About KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA, Asansol
Kendriya Vidyalaya have four-fold mission, namely -
- To catere to the educational needs of children of transferable central Govt. employees including defence and para-millitary personnel by providing a common programme of education.
- To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school, education.
- To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Educational Research & Training (NCERT), etc.
- To develop the spirit of National Integration create essence of "Indian ness" among children.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Asansol is one of the model schools of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, under Kolkata Regional Office & its past & present Excellency is the result for declaring it a model vidyalaya. With the passage of time it has made tremendous progress with the following features at present.
- Kendriya Vidyalaya, Asansol has an effective & well-knit organizational set up and imparts education to the students from Pre-Primary to class XII by teachers being selected at all India level with the help of modern technology & equipments. Teachers are sent for In-service training very often to know the most upto date method of education. As a result they are able to provide quality education to children.
- We have a nice building with spacious, airy & well-ventilated classrooms & deferent rooms for the activities of games, music, arts & SUPW departments. We have four well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Junior Science. It also have an air-conditioned Computer Laboratory having Internet facilities for vidyalaya students. It also provides free computer awareness to the children of nereby schools in the evening hours.
- Use of audio-visual aids besides computers, informal learning opportunities through bulletin boards and excursions, utilization of community resources and the system of internal & external assesment of the students and use of rich library books throughout the academic session have contributed much in the pursuit & achievements of academic excellence.
